Traveling by train

Train fares vary a great deal depending on the type of the ticket and special offers. Only travelers living outside Europe can book Eurail Select passes designed for 5, 6, 8, 10, or 15 days of travel within a 2 month period. Detailed information is available from http://www.euraide.com/.
Rail passes are considerably cheaper if bought outside Europe. For example 5 days of travel in three countries would be around 400 US $. EurAide offices in Boston, Munich and Berlin offer specific information for travellers and bookings. Rail passes can be ordered there about 8 weeks before traveling.

The main train connections in Europe and special local ticket offers can be checked at http://www.oebb.at/ and www.bahn.de (German and English). Special offers for city tours including train fares and hotel can be found there too - around one month before traveling.

Traveling by car

It is also possible to rent a car at http://www.e-sixt.com/ or http://www.europcar.com/.
